FAQs
Getting Started
-
A professional organizer helps you sort through what you own, decide what actually deserves space in your home, and build a system you'll keep using once I'm gone. I'm a certified KonMari Consultant with a background in software engineering, so sessions blend the emotional work of letting go with the systems-thinking work of making sure what we build together survives real life, not just the day I leave.
-
No. Skip the pre-cleaning entirely — I've seen every version of a cluttered room, and none of it surprises me. Some clients feel the urge to tidy before I get there, but that instinct usually just hides the exact problem we're there to solve. Come as you are and let's start from what's actually true about the space.
-
No. You stay in charge of every decision — my job is to help you see your options clearly, not hand down verdicts on your belongings. Some clients move through a room quickly; others need to sit with an item for a while before deciding. Both are normal, and we move at whatever pace keeps the process feeling like relief instead of pressure.
-
Not at all. Plenty of clients have homes that look put-together from the outside and still feel exhausting to live in — closets that never quite work, systems nobody else in the house understands, drawers that always slide back into chaos within a week. If your space is making your days harder than they need to be, that's reason enough to reach out, whether or not it would pass a stranger's inspection.
Background & Method
-
The KonMari Method is Marie Kondo's category-based approach to decluttering, where you handle each item and decide whether it earns a place in your life going forward. It's part of my training and background — I'm a certified KonMari Consultant — and it shapes how I approach almost every project. But I stay flexible with it: we might adjust the category order, move at a different pace, or blend in other tools depending on what works for your home and how you make decisions. What stays constant is the core of it — sitting with your relationship to each item and deciding, honestly, what still belongs in your life.
-
I'm a certified KonMari Consultant, and before this, I spent years working as a software engineer. That combination is more useful than it sounds: the engineering background trained me to spot bottlenecks, design repeatable systems, and build for how something actually gets used day to day. I bring that same eye to your pantry, your closet, or your home office.
The Process
-
We start by talking through what isn't working in the space and what you'd want it to feel like instead. From there, we sort category by category, working through decisions together so nothing gets swept into a box without you actually choosing it. Once we know what's staying, we design storage and a layout that matches how you actually use the space, then set up simple habits so it holds up after I leave.
-
Each session is 4-hours long. Project completion depends on the scope and how quickly you move through decisions once we're in it. Closets usually take 1–3 sessions depending on how much there is to sort through. Kitchens tend to run 2–4 sessions. Full-home projects span several — and for any project, the real timeline usually becomes clear after our first session or two, once we've seen your pace firsthand.
-
Pricing depends on the scope of the project and how many sessions it takes to get there. You can find current rates and packages on my pricing page — reach out if you have questions about what a project like yours might involve.
-
Reach out through my contact page with a little about your space and what's prompting the project. I'll follow up to talk through the details and figure out what kind of session makes sense for you.
Closet Edits & Wardrobe Projects
-
Yes! Closet projects are some of my favorite work, and a lot of clients start there before deciding whether to tackle other parts of the home. A well-organized closet changes how getting dressed feels every single morning, which makes it a great place to start even if a whole-home project isn't on your radar yet.
-
We start by identifying your style words — the handful of terms that actually capture how you want to look and feel, not just what's trending. From there, I help you pare your closet down to match that vision and put together outfits that work for your real lifestyle. If real gaps show up once the edit is done, I'll point them out so you know exactly what's worth adding, on your own timeline. It's different from stylist work in one key way: we're working with what's already in your closet, not building a shopping list from scratch.
-
Yes — that's often where the real shift happens. A lot of closets are full of clothes bought for a version of yourself that's changed, or pieces that looked great online but never made it into rotation. I use simple tracking methods, like the backwards hanger trick or a digital wardrobe app, to help you see the pattern with real data instead of guesswork, then build a closet around what you're actually reaching for.
Logistics
-
I'm based in Seattle, Washington, and work with clients throughout the greater Seattle area for in-home organizing sessions. Reach out through my contact page with your neighborhood, and I'll let you know if I'm a fit for your project.
-
That depends on the item and what you'd like to see happen to it. For in-person sessions, I take away one car-load of donations per session, so that step is handled before I even leave. If you'd rather handle donations yourself, I keep a resource list of local Seattle-area consignment and donation spots so it doesn't turn into its own project. For things worth selling, I can walk you through a simple system for consigning or listing higher-value pieces on places like Poshmark or Facebook Marketplace. The goal is to get things all the way out of your home, not just into a pile by the door that sits there for months.

I currently work with clients in-home throughout the Seattle area. If a virtual session would be useful for your project, mention it when you reach out and we can talk through whether it's a good fit.
